08:00 – 10:45 — Scenic Drive to Ouzoud

We head northeast out of Marrakech through a beautiful and ever-changing landscape. As we travel, you will pass through green olive groves, open Berber countryside, and a series of charming traditional villages that offer a fascinating glimpse into rural Moroccan life. Furthermore, we make a short comfort stop along the way, giving you the chance to stretch, take photos, and enjoy the scenery before continuing the journey.

10:45 — Arrival at Ouzoud

Upon arrival at Ouzoud (Tanaghmeilt), we begin with a brief orientation at the upper viewpoint—a perfect spot to take in your first look at the waterfalls from above. From here, you will immediately grasp the extraordinary scale of the Ouzoud waterfalls, as the water tumbles powerfully over the red rock cliffs below.

10:45 – 12:15 — Exploring the Waterfalls

Next, we walk down through terraces and local market stalls to reach the mid-level lookouts and eventually the base of the 110-meter cascades. Please note that the path involves steps and some uneven terrain, so comfortable non-slip shoes are strongly recommended. As you descend, the sound of the falling water grows louder, and the spray from the base creates a refreshing natural mist—especially welcome during the warm Moroccan midday.

Additionally, throughout the walk you will almost certainly encounter the resident Barbary macaques—the friendly wild monkeys that live in the surrounding trees and are one of the most charming highlights of any visit to Ouzoud.

12:15 – 14:00 — Free Time at the Falls

From approximately 12:15 to 14:00, you have free time to enjoy Ouzoud entirely at your own pace. During this time, you can:

• Take a small boat ride near the base of the falls (optional, paid locally)
• Enjoy lunch at one of the riverside cafés with stunning views (own expense)
• Take photographs from the best viewpoints along the river
• Simply relax by the water and enjoy the natural surroundings

14:00 – 15:30 — More Exploration

After lunch, you have additional free time to continue exploring. Cross the footbridge for alternate angles and views of the waterfalls, browse the local craft stalls, or simply watch the Barbary macaques playing in the trees above. Moreover, if you prefer a more relaxed experience, you are welcome to remain on the upper terrace area, where you can still enjoy excellent views of the waterfalls without any steep walking.

15:30 — Return to Marrakech

We regroup at the upper car park at 15:30 and begin our comfortable return journey to Marrakech. As we are on the way there, we make a short comfort stop along the route. Consequently, you can expect to arrive back at your hotel or riad between 18:00 and 18:30 — tired, perhaps, but undoubtedly inspired by a day spent in one of Morocco’s most extraordinary natural settings.
