14-Day Grand Morocco Tour from Casablanca

Day 1: Casablanca — Rabat — via Chefchaouen

Our grand Morocco tour starts by exploring the extraordinary Hassan II Mosque, located close to the Atlantic waves. Our driver then takes you to Rabat, where you will see the ancient Udayas Kasbah and the impressive Hassan Tower. Day 2: Chefchaouen—Tangier via Asilah

On the second day, we reach the northernmost point of your Moroccan adventure, where the sea meets the ocean. Day 3: Asilah—Fes—via Volubilis 

Today, you will explore the Roman ruins of Volubilis. You will walk over the remains of ancient history carved in stone, including beautiful and colorful mosaics dating back thousands of years. This UNESCO site reflects the depth of history associated with Moroccan trips before we reach the spiritual capital. Then, you reach Fes, the oldest imperial city of the kingdom, to check into your lovely riad. Day 4: Fes — Fes medina — via the ancient schools. 

Discover the largest car-free city in the world on the fourth day of your tour. You will walk the narrow streets of the Fes medina with our local guide to see the old schools and colorful markets. This step is a highlight of all Moroccan desert trips, as the old town feels like a living exhibition hall. You will also observe the famous tanneries where people still dye leather using techniques that have remained unchanged for hundreds of years.  Day 5: Fes — Midelt — via Ifrane and Azrou. 

Leave the city behind and head toward the Middle Atlas Mountains. We stop in Ifrane, known as “Little Switzerland,” where you can breathe the fresh mountain air. You will have the chance to visit a different and much greener side of the kingdom during this part of your Atlas Mountains tour. We will also visit the Cedar Forest in Azrou, where you can see the wild monkeys. Then, we hop back into the vehicle and travel through the high plains until we arrive in the town of Midelt for our overnight stay. This relaxing day prepares you for what you will face as we head toward the Sahara. 

Day 6: Midelt—Merzouga—via the Ziz Valley

 On day 6, you will see the stunning Ziz Valley canyon. Along a river between high mountains, you will see millions of palm trees. The view is incredible, as the green trees look like an island in the desert scenery. In the afternoon, you will finally arrive at the golden dunes of Merzouga to begin your Sahara adventure. You swap the car for a camel and penetrate deep into the sand as day turns to dusk on the dunes. This is one of the magical nights of your tour, featuring a warm dinner and Berber music under the stars. 

Day 7: Merzouga—Khamlia—via nomadic families. 

We spend a second day in the desert to unveil more secrets. Join us as we travel to the village of Khamlia to listen to spiritual Gnawa music played by local musicians who live in the dunes. This unique cultural experience is an integral part of our Moroccan desert trips. We also visit a nomadic family to discover their way of life, living far into the desert with their animals. After lunch, you can either stay at the hotel or visit the small dunes by yourself. This additional day allows you to experience the true peace of the Sahara. 

Day 8: Merzouga — Dades Valley — via Todra Gorge 

You will want to wake up early to watch the sunrise. The sand glows bright rose gold, creating a memory of your Moroccan desert trip that you will cherish forever. After breakfast, we ride our camels back and set off toward the high rock walls. Before long, we arrive at the Todra Gorges, with 300-meter-high rock walls standing above a cool river. This is one of the most magnificent sections of your Atlas Mountains tour. Afterward, you drive across the beautiful Valley of Roses to arrive at the Dades Valley for the evening. 

Day 9: Dades Valley—Marrakech—via Ait Benhaddou

On the ninth day, we travel along the old “road of a thousand kasbahs.” We visit the world-famous city of Ait Ben Haddou, built with mud-brick, where many Hollywood movies were filmed. As a UNESCO site that looks incredible, it is a staple of all Morocco trips. Next, your Atlas Mountains day trip continues as we traverse the high Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Amazing Berber villages cling to the hillsides along your journey. Finally, we reach the vibrant city of Marrakech in the evening, so you can enjoy the local atmosphere. 

Day 10: Marrakech—Marrakech City Tour—via Bahia Palace

 The tenth day allows you to explore the “red city” directly. Your guide will take you to explore the Bahia Palace and the Saadian Tombs to learn more about our royal past. The architecture is detailed and beautiful, making it a must-visit on your Marrakech tour. In the afternoon, you can stroll through the Majorelle Garden or wander the souks to find local gifts. Day 11: Marrakech—via traditional hammam 

Day 11 is a free day in Marrakech. You can visit a traditional hammam for a relaxing scrub or take a cooking class to learn our secret recipes! The new part of town is also worth a visit, or you can find a rooftop café to watch the sunset over the Koutoubia Mosque. Day 12: Marrakech—Essaouira—via the Atlantic coast

On day 12, we head to the windy city of Essaouira. With fresh seafood and a blue-and-white medina facing the Atlantic Ocean, this place offers a mix you only get in Morocco. This soothing destination is a highlight for many because the ocean breeze is so refreshing. Wander along the historic sea walls and see local fishermen hauling in their daily catch. This remains a flexible part of your tour, giving you time to relax and enjoy the calmness of the coast. You will spend the night in this charming, artistic town by the sea. 

Day 13: Essaouira—El Jadida—via Safi

 We head north along the scenic coastal road. We make a stop in Safi to admire the pottery hills and then move on to El Jadida to see its Portuguese cistern. These historical stops showcase the vast history of our shores throughout time. Any stop you make along this route offers breathtaking ocean views and great photography locations by the rocky cliffs. Your day culminates with a final dinner beside the Atlantic waves. This quiet evening is a great time to reflect on the beautiful experiences of the last two weeks. 

Day 14: El Jadida—Casablanca—via local markets.

On your final day, enjoy a relaxing morning at the shore. We will then drive back to the big city, where you can take one more stroll through the markets.
