5-Day Tour from Fes to Marrakech

Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt

Kick off your 5-day adventure with a heart-pounding drive through the dramatic Middle Atlas. Blaze a trail to Ifrane, famous for its alpine appeal and often called “Little Switzerland.” Then, take a deeper dive into the wild, stopping to feed playful monkeys in the cedar woods. Start your Moroccan adventures with a bang!

And then we go to the apple city of Midelt for the night. Great Morocco custom tours are all about a slow pace. As we go up into the mountains, the air will feel cooler and fresher to you. We would like you to be relaxed and happy as we are going to the big desert tomorrow morning.

Day 2: Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga | 5-Day Morocco Tour from Fes to Marrakech

Day 2 of the 5-Day Morocco Tour brings the landscape to a dark orange color. We drive through the Ziz Valley, with its thousands of green palms and ancient towns. We finally arrive at the dunes of Merzouga, orange velvet sand, an authentic Moroccan desert tour moment!

Spend some time there, then enjoy a friendly camel ride as the sun sets and start your Moroccan desert trip. Your night is spent in a tent possessing all the qualities of a luxury trip to Morocco. These tents come with real beds and an en-suite bathroom, so you are sleeping very comfortably. The night will finish with a drum circle and tasty dinner under the bright lights of the Milky Way.

Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani Market – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

So we have to wake up ridiculously early to catch a sunrise that feels magical. We have a big breakfast, then get back on the camels and head back to the old market in Rissani. This is really one of the most genuine places in our Morocco desert trips. There will be a number of donkeys you can find and local shops selling colorful spices and clothing.

Then we drive to the Todra Gorges, where the walls of the rocks are so tall they reach the clouds. One of the main highlights of our Moroccan desert trips is that you are free to walk the cold river and listen to the wind flowing through the big rocks. Finally, we travel to the Dades Valley to admire the funny “monkey fingers” rocks and spend a night in a charming hotel.

Day 4: Dades Valley – Rose Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate

Day 4: Valley of Roses, perfumed by millions of flowers that are used for perfume. Explore the palm groves of Skoura and the ancient mud houses, another highlight of your Desert Tour Morocco adventure.

Next is Ouarzazate, also called the “Hollywood of Africa” because of its famous film studios. Explore the enormous sets of Gladiator and Game of Thrones. This is one of our must-see stops on our desert trips in Morocco. We’ll have a nice quiet night here and get ready for our last mountain pass tomorrow.

Day 5: Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – High Atlas – Marrakesh

On the last day of the itinerary, in your free time, you should go to the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah. A UNESCO World Heritage site and a must on an Atlas Mountains day trip from Marrakech, it is often referred to as the giant mud city. You are allowed to go to the very top to look down on the whole valley cut along the river, looking like a map at your feet.

And finally, we are driving through the high Tizi n’Tichka Pass, which is the highest pass in the country. When we finish our Morocco desert tours, you’ll see a few tiny villages with Berber housing built directly out of the rocks.
